Here is a Brief History of Radio Central HAMEXPO Indoor Hamfests Over the Years. Unfortunately there are no plans to do a Hamexpo in the year 2001. Perhaps things will change in the year ahead and we may be in a position to do one in 2002. Check this page regularly for details.

Ham Expo has come a long way since its inception. Originally located at Suffolk Community College, the event initially began as a local hamfest to help generate income for the club's many activities. It has grown since then and moved several years ago to the Stony Brook Campus of the State University of New York. It has gained recognition over the years, and has hosted the ARRL NLI Section Convention.

Since that time, the event outgrew its even larger facility and has moved to the New York Polytechnic Institute, Farmingdale Long Island, New York This new home provided a more attractive location geographically, provided more space to grow and meet the needs of the amateur community, and brought the Expo event to a new level. The combination of hundreds of vendors, the presence of major manufacturers with brand new products being offered, has made this premier event one of the most respected of its kind.
